Success Scenario


A “Success Scenario” in Action Recorder denotes the success message/page displayed after a particular process is completed in your website. For example: A thank you page is shown when someone submits a form, here the thank you page is the success scenario of that particular event in Action Recorder. 

Setting up a success scenario for your events is optional, however if you specify a success event there are more chances that your events are properly tracked. 

You can also track multiple success scenarios, if you redirect to different pages. (This will come in handy if you have a multilingual website). Here’s an example event to demonstrate how you can set up success scenarios for multiple landing pages. 

1. Login to your CustomerLabs account

2. Launch Action Recorder and start by tracking a checkout event (considering an example event) once you have set up all your attributes you will be asked to setup a success scenario (3rd screen in the process)

3. Minimize the Action Recorder panel and Go to your website success page (since we are considering a checkout event, here the success page is a “Order Received” confirmation message)

4. Now in the Action Recorder panel click on the to select the message

5. Once you select the message, the information will be updated.

6. For the next field you will have to copy the link of your success page and paste it there. You can leave your domain and copy the link of the page as shown below

7. You can choose to fill either of the two. Finally the information will be updated as highlighted below

8. Click “Save”

9. To enter another scenario, minimize the Action Recorder panel and navigate to the other page

10. Reopen the Action Recorder panel and click on the to select the message

11. Once you select the message, the information will be updated.

12. For the next field you will have to copy the link of your success page and paste it there. You can leave your domain and copy the link of the page as shown below

 13. You can choose to fill either of the two. Finally the information will be updated as highlighted below

14. Click “Save” 

15. You can view your saved success scenarios on the right

16. Click “Next | Tracking Rule” and save your event

17. You are good to go!

Dynamic Text in Success Scenario


Dynamic texts can be used in success scenarios when the success messages in certain cases differ. An instance where dynamic texts can come in handy is explained below. 

1. Login to your CustomerLabs account

2. Launch Action Recorder and start by tracking an add to cart event (an example event) 

3. You store might show a notification that a product has been added to cart as shown below

4. This success message differs for each and every product

5. To add this success scenario, select all your attributes and go to the success scenario screen (3rd screen in the Action Recorder panel)

6. Select “Dynamic Text” in the success scenario section as shown below

7. After selecting “Dynamic Text”, enter the following information in the field in the exact format – |*your product*| has been added to your cart

8. Click on “Save” and save your event

9. You are good to go!
